Uniqlo Loves Art

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

To celebrate this year’s UT Project Uniqlo’s annual T-shirt collaboration with some of the world’s top creatives, the label is unveiling The UT Gallery: a one-off exhibition space filled with portraits showcasing the collection. The exhibition features some 200 works, which were shot by photographer Matt Irwin along with stylist Nicola Formichetti. The images show up-and-coming artists, models and designers wearing some of the 700 UT Project tees, including those by Eighties artists Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. And do not fear - if you’re so taken by the looks on display, a selection of the designs will be on sale at the gallery, priced at £12.99 for both men and women. Find the UT Gallery at Unit 4 & 5, The Old Truman Brewery, Dray Walk, London E1.

Songbirds

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Following in the footsteps of songbird supermodel Irina Lazareanu, Agyness Dean and Daisy Lowe are both gearing up for their music debuts. Dean is lending her vocals to Who, a track by New York-based band Five O’Clock Heroes, which will be released on June 23 - and, naturally, she has a starring role in the video too.
Lowe, meanwhile, has been making beautiful music with her ultra-hip producer beau Mark Ronson in the recording studio.

Another bird to perch on the same brach is Miss Scarlett Johansson. She has her debut album in stores May 08, featuring her inspired vocal interpretations of 10 Tom Waits songs plus one original track “ Anywhere I Lay My Head“. Produced by David Andrew Sitek from TV On The Radio and features backing vocals from the man himself David Bowie!! Well, these songbirds will be singing all the way to the….. next branch x

Celine

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Celine have recently launched an online store in Japan where you can grab yourselves ( if your lucky enough to live there) some of these gorgeous Celine boots. I remember seeing alot of this style in Tokyo last year but I have to say they were not as bright and tempting as these! I think I want the black ones, but for all you colour-loving people out there… get moving! …literally. x

Phillip Lim Spring 2008 RTW

Sunday, April 27, 2008

Phillip Lim displayed his signature looks of dresses fashioned in the style of Madame Grès, the Parisian mistress, of pleats and draping this season. The french chic is reverberated throughout the collection through short minis, cute sequined berets, cropped sleeve jackets, ruffles and frill. I love his play with colour and prints! I want some!! x See more pics after the jump.

Built By Wendy has, for some time now, always been a brand I have liked to look at. For its simplicity and wearability, Built By Wendy’s Spring 2008 Collection French Flower is just that and more. This season the fabrics and styles have outdone their past… I love the romantic asthetic and the dreamy little dresses and skirts. Here is a look at some of my favourite pieces after the jump. Some perfect lil spring oufits to wander around in the sun with!
