Sick if everybody’s ballet flats? These are sure to spice up your needs. Bona Drag have created, with Capezio (a popular dance brand), a cute spin on the flat dance shoe at $48. I love them they serve the nice sweet ballerina girl with a slash of punk studs! Not sure how the ballet mistresses would approve?…. New Chanel Boutique

Thursday, June 5, 2008

The opening of Chanel’s mini-boutique on Roberston Boulevard in Los Angeles was celebrated last thursday night with some pretty famous names attending the lavish launch. Adding to the eye candy factor too was the 5,395-square-foot boutique complete with a landscaped courtyard designed by Peter Marino and its tightly edited selection of ready-to-wear, fine jewelry, accessories, and cosmetics. The store also had its very own display of nail polish created exclusively for the new store! Have a look at Linlee Allen’s run down of pics from the night here.

Alexandra Wang For Uniqlo

Thursday, June 5, 2008

Alexandra Wang is one of my favourite designers at the moment and it looks like he is impressing the rest of the world too! Wang has been asked to design a line for the booming label as of late Uniqlo. He is said to be doing some beautiful basics such as tees, shift dresses, shirts, and designs with waistcoat and back details - as part of the retailer’s Designer Invitation Project, which has in the past seen collections from Lutz and Patmos Cashmere and Brazilian designer Juliana Jabour.  Every piece is priced between just £24.99 and £29.99. But there’s a downside too - the collection is instore now and selling out fast. Plan your purchase now!

Helmut Newton’s Machine At Top Shop

Thursday, June 5, 2008

Shoppers at Top Shop’s flagship store in Oxford Street will have the opportunity to try out the visionary machine developed by Helmut Newton on June 10th. “The Machine has a timing mechanism, which can be adjusted by the sitter. A mirror is placed next to the camera so she can check her pose, a strobe light is connected to my magic box, before each exposure a bell rings and a warning light blinks: all this designed to keep the model on her toes and keep her excited ” says Newton.

People will be invited to try out the machine for free and with nail touch-ups by Nars and a rack of TopShop clothes at their disposal, and the resulting images will be displayed in a gallery within the store, as well as online at topshop.com, the stores fans will be living their own Newton experience. And if that wasn’t enough of an experience, there will be some of Newtons famous photography lining the walls to give you inspiration for your very own poise !! Get strutting!
