Takashi Murakami In Frankfurt

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

From September 17th until January the MMK Museum fur Moderne Kunst Frankfurt will be the home to around 130 paintings, sculptures and videos of a major retrospective from Tokyo’s pop artist and Louis Vuitton collaborator, Murakami. Some call his work ‘New Pop Art’ or ‘Tokyo Pop’, but the man himself likes to call it ‘Super Flat’ as described in his book ‘The Meaning of the Nonsense of the Meaning’ (2000). If you are lucky enough to grab a peek at this amazing show then do so! If not, get the full run down here.
