After their red hot year through the nineties, Chloe was determined to bring back the essential ingredients that have been lost on the last few years, and create a season that has that usual Chloe girl who would once spare no expense to get hold of Chloé’s signature sexy-girly things, trophy bags, and shoes doing just that.
Hannah MacGibbon, the 38-year-old blond British designer who assisted Phoebe Philo from 1997, created scallop-edge coats, rounded-shoulder blouses, and high-waisted flared shorts, ruffle-necklined dresses and jumpsuits with an eighties kind of gathering in the thigh area, which certainly had a spring freshness about them which was just the right ingredient. I love this collection for its femininity, is cute and naughty, and how are those shoes!
