Jayne Min’s Céline-inspired Decks
Apparel-designer-turned-bloggeuse Jayne Min’s Céline-inspired decks talks about how the decks came about to Into the Gloss.
“I had just moved into a new place and was thinking of what I wanted to put up on a wall. I was going through my collection of skateboard decks and I really just wanted one that was more graphic and clean. I thought of how the CÉLINE print from SS11 would be so perfect and then I just decided to put it on a deck. It was an homage to my two loves— skateboarding and Phoebe Philo! I got into skateboarding in junior high because of my brother… I was never any good but I grew up in the community and it shaped everything about who I am today. Sometimes the commercial usage of it nowadays is pretty funny, but overall I’m happy that the industry is growing. I just want it to thrive!”
