We introduced you all to Le Corps Mince De Francoise here, with their electro-pop sounds. We had the honour of talking to the Finnish lady trio and we can now show you an insight into their minds, music and master plans. See our interview below! And keep an eye out for their ‘Bitch Of The Bitches’ releasing February 23.

How has your day been so far?

I  did a live radio interview for BBC and went to the store to buy
ingredients for a finnish fish soup im gonna cook for my fellow
flatmates tonight before we’re heading to see Obi Blanche live. I’m in
Berlin for the moment just for vacation, and next week we’re continuing
recordings of our album. The other girls are in Finland until we get
back on tour in end of this month. We have our studio in Berlin so i
hang around here a lot, even though i’m not working.

Tell us about your last gig you played?
We played a showcase gig supported by London rapper Dels. The place was
packed and there was a good atmosphere! It was a great show, sound was
shit but it made it all very punky. Malin did a LCMDF dj-set afterwards.
It was the last gig of our january UK tour.

So, give us a history on your name?
I came up with it in 2006 when she put up some garage band demos on
myspace. I got offered some gigs and asked Mia and Malin to join. Then
we played so many shows in finland we never got rid of the name. Le
Corps Mince de Françoise sounds cool, like french minced corpses. We use
that, it’s much better than the original meaning.

Who writes the lyrics? Who writes the music?
I write the lyrics. I also write most of the songs. They start as garage
band files on my laptop. Then we test new tracks live and finish them
with our producer Jonas Verwijnen in Berlin.

Your homepage is very cool, who was the visionaire behind this art work?

I study graphic design, and I have a big passion for html-coding… It’s
good to work out the visual part ourselves, because we can change it
when we want to. I like to keep our myspace as fresh as possible. That
is still our main media, until our record is out.

How do you guys interpret the word ‘pop’ music?

pop could be described as maybe the purest kind of music. Good melodies.
We like to call ourselves a pop band rather than indie or electro,
because those therms have a very strong scene round them.

Do you feel you are in this category?

we are very much pop music. Our vice is to write great pop songs and
work out them in an experimental and interesting way. We are also called
electro because we work with electronic beats, synths and samplers. But
i think most of all commercial music uses that nowadays. We just wanna
play great funny and smart pop songs.

You have been compared with CSS and The Knife. Who would you compare
yourself to?

Most of those are just very lazy comparisons. I could say we have a lot
of hot chip, talking heads and rapture in our newer tracks. Come see the
live!

What are your influences?

We’re all 90s kids and have a past of los del rio, moby, leila K, snap!,
prodigy and all boy bands.

Tell us about the music scene in Finland?

Finland is very big on heavy music. To be big in Finland you have to
sing in finish. You could say we skipped Finland when
There is a very cool club gangs of the labels/artists/dj’s Top Billin’
and New Judas who both kicks some serious ass. But everything is very
very very small, everybody knows each other.

Tea or Coffee?

Coffee in the morning. Tea when hangover.

Where would we find you all on a Friday night?

at a gig. sometimes  i’d rather stay at home but i kind of always end up
in a bar…hahha

Favorite record?

The Smiths – Queen is dead

Best all time lyric?

“-What were the skies like when you were young?
-They went on forever
 And they… when I
 We lived in Arizona
And the skies always had little fluffy clouds”

Somewhere you would love to play at in the future?

US and Japan

What’s next on the agenda for you guys?

finishing the album, touring in UK and france…i am for the moment
working on T-shirts.
