I spent the past weekend in the canopy of the lush Waitakere Ranges with the wonderful girls of The Periodic Journal. We stayed two nights at the beautiful Piha Retreat designed by local architect Chris Tate. Floor to ceiling windows of a view right to Lion Rock was the highlight of the building – a forever changing view depicted by the weather. We cooked, read books, stoked the fire, and brainstormed over our next issue…

It was a creative treat to be in the same room as the people you’re working with for more than just a few hours, (or email threads) at a time, having the time to mull over ideas until they brew into something that has us excited and grinning felt as it should be.
