In every nuance of the word, Elmore James has been an important influence in our Blues heritage. His early work with the great Delta performers, his Robert Johnson-like instrumental style, his ability to rework early material into the contemporary idiom of Negro urban blues of the 50’s in such a penetrating manner that the young white blues players of today and tomorrow are still working and re-working his repertoire as well as his bottleneck style, – all these and more reasons make Elmore James a giant bluesman.

Tuesday’s Tune is a deep bluesy one: Dust My Broom, one of Elmore James’ best known compositions. Enjoy!
