16mm Film by Greta van der Star for WAIST 3.5

We dragged the camera to the far end of the beach and up an impossibly steep cliff face to get these shots. Because it had to feel isolated, it needed solitude. Then we asked Julia to make me a suit jacket from bits of paper — an early print off of the journal, in fact. Dancing in sand is difficult, if you’ve never tried, but I liked the stickiness that accumulated in my body, and every now and then my frustration would build to a pop of physical release. All improvised over 2 minutes of film.
