I have always loved Fanny Bostrom’s work. It has a child-like quality in aesthetic but a strong, political personality standing behind it. These illustrations were from her first solo show in New York City, a city she describes as a place ‘she always meant to leave, but kept staying a year and another year’. “Other Worlds” showed at 31 Grand in Brooklyn, in June 2006 and all the paintings were inspired by places ‘far far away, magical spots, where anything could happen……’.
