Citrus bergamia, the Bergamot. The yellow-skinned kind from Morocco and the green pear-shaped variety that only grows in a tiny part of Reggio di Calabria in Southern Italy. Turing from orange to yellow as it ripens, the Bergamot expresses valuable essential oil when cold-pressed.

The colour combination of bergamot and blue takes my mind back to my first two-piece swimsuit. A medium blue, Rip Curl bikini with a thin, orange trimming. I thought it was the best. Not only could I enjoy the freedom of a single strap across my back, but I could feel the sun on my tummy.

This idea is great until your exposed tummy hits the icy waters of the Pacific ocean. Still, I was stoked.

Therefore, attached to my colour combo of zesty orange and that deeper, sky blue is a warm memory of my first summer showing off my mid drift. I was 11yrs old; it was a good feeling.
