Although she dubbed the collection “Angels”, Edwardian-punk-school-girls seemed to be the more promenent theme at Karen Walker’s autumn/winter 2008-9 show in New York this Febuary. Stand out pieces were the eighties cherry red tuxedo, a lace-trimmed nightshirt paired with a brown Henley, skinny acid wash jeans, metallic fuchsia jazz shoes and a striped Rasta hat!!! “I was really inspired by Edwardian and Victorian childrenswear and doll’s clothes, mixed in with some heavier elements and rock and roll references to get that contrast,” Walker Stated before the show. Set to the beat of Siouxsie and The Cure, Walker achieved her goal.
