Presence. So Long so that being present turns into being disregarded. Sharing space and time, so much so that we lose ourselves in the space and time becomes timeless. Performance artist Marina Abramović is enduring a three month exhibition which, of course, feature herself inside the gallery space living out her titled work ‘The Artist Is Present’. Said to be mocking the gallery traditions of invitations stating that the artist will be present at the opening but also diving deeper into the idea of the work is still exsisting even when no eyes are on it, once the gallery doors are closed and the lights are off, the artist’s work is ‘always present’. Or is it.

Marina Abramović will be sitting at one end of a wooden table inside the MoMa starting before the Museum opens each day and continuing until after it closes, allowing viewer participation where they can sit with Marina at the table too. A live viewing of this longest live performance ever recorded for Abramović’s work is now available here. You can watch the audience part take in her performance, something that Abramović is well known for.

This live performance which started on the weekend runs through till May 31st 2010.
