Sheer Brilliance

I have always had a soft spot for anything silk and sheer. Especially in shirts. I like the contradiction it creates within the shirt, being some what masculine and sophisticated with button ups, cuffs, collars and long sleeves, but when made out of a sheer, light fabric, which is extremely sexy and feminine to wear, it gives the shirt a new aesthetic and place in the wardrobe. Maybe it is the introduction of the visible- lingerie styling that makes this look easier and more successful to pull off, giving the sheer fabric as much skin as we can, to show off the form of the body and how the dimensions of the shirt itself drape over it.

I think I might pull my sleeves off my white oxford shirt today, leave the edges raw and tuck it into brushed-silk skirt or leave it long over a singlet-dress…
