It’s funny what you discover when you watch the “extras” section of a DVD… As I was watching an outtake scene of one of the Australian boys surfing Sunset in Hawaii, from the film, Bustin Down the Door, it was the song in the background that made my ears prick up. “Death of the 60’s” by Jeff Coates and The Hangers. A fairly reclusive band by the way of what the internet does and doesn’t reveal about them, but their song is definitely worth the research. It sounds really good when it’s played really loud.

There is no video to accompany this tune (someone needs to make one!) but here is a link to listen to Death of the 60’s by Jeff Coates and The Hangers. Image above is by photographer Dan Merkel who was there shooting the 70’s surf scene in Hawaii. Enjoy!
