With the fashion industry changing as fast as the hit of a refresh button, the marketing gurus of the world are having to work harder than ever before. Enter Miss Rike Döepp, founder and owner of Agency V, a transatlantic showroom housing an ever growing list of quality brands, including some of my most favourite such as BLESS, Zana Bayne, Stine Goya and Henrik Vibskov.

When I first met Rike in New York, I instantly liked her – petite (and gorgeous) in stature yet confident and direct in manner (possibly the German in her coming through?), strong blue eyes that smile when she does, and a sparky energy that was a little bit contagious!

She took us out to lunch at this cute little japanese cafe where we share seaweed salad and japanese sweets. Date #1, sold.

Here is my little interview with Rike, enjoy! Images of Rike are taken by wonderful Dan McMahon near her Agency V New York City showroom in the West Village.

Anyonegirl: Who is your ‘style muse,’ and why?

Rike Döpp: When I was 20 and started working at Girault-Totem, where we all dressed very Géraldine Saglio. My colleague Jana was impersonating French-chic and I have always just been wanting to look like her.

Anyonegirl: A few words on how you go about dressing yourself for work?

Rike Döpp: I’m currently wearing ballet flats, striped boat neck, cigarette pants – I guess that’s pretty much my uniform.

Anyonegirl: How does this change, if at all, come the weekends?

Rike Döpp: Not much, I just add some sportswear, because the weekends are dedicated to going in walks with my miniature dachshund ‘Pie.’

Anyonegirl: Seasonal trends you are liking, and avoiding?

Rike Döpp: NYC has so many funny food trends. Right now, we’re all juicing. I’m having a juice every day, instead of coffee. Currently ‘Kale with Almond Milk.’ Healthy and green in the very sense of the word.

Anyonegirl: Top three beauty items right now?

Rike Döpp: The light version of Kiehl’s Creme de Corps with SPF 30, the After Sun Moisturizer by Hampton Sun and my boyfriend’s Clay Hairwax.

Anyonegirl: What are you listening to on your iPod?

Rike Döpp: The majestic remix of Fifteen by Goldroom, Vogue Paris used it in a beautiful summery video of a shoot from Marrio Sorrenti and Emmanuelle Alt, where they used our client Zana Bayne – that’s how I found it.

Anyonegirl: How do you de-stress from work?

Rike Döpp: I’m trying to run every morning in Cobble Hill. I’m a running rookie, but it’s fun and I get a lot of advice by friends, which is helpful.

Anyonegirl: Where do you want to go on your next holiday?

Rike Döpp: Lake Como! A classic Italian holiday.

Anyonegirl: What is your ultimate Friday night wind-down after a long week of work?

Rike Döpp: I’m more social during the week, so Friday is a night in, cooking a simple meal. There’s a great super market close by with local products. In summer, it’s also great to have one beach day on the weekend.
