you yourselves are a letter

The first of a series of poems written by Rosie Fea

it saddens me

that poetry is thought only for

the conservative woman over forty

the school teacher

the twenty-something year old male

wearing glasses

sitting over there,

searching for meaning.

i think he might listen to radiohead

and maybe knows about bitcoin,

or fixed gear bicycles.

is not every utterance

that comes from the lips of a conscious being

worthy of documentation?

i think you too might have

beautiful things to say

if only you looked past words

to write them down.
