I feel a very strong force when walking past second-hand stores, markets, or car-boot sales. I just have to stop and have a look. The magpie within loves to find treasures, especially books.

My latest find is this quaint little publication called Herbs of New Zealand by Heather Skelton. It is filled with reasons why herbs are so darn cool – from how to grow herbs to herbs for medicine and health, recipes on how to make your own shampoo and homemade herbal teas. It even shows you how to make herb butter for your scones.

So while I am getting all organic and domestic over here, I thought I would share a few of these very well styled images from this 1979 book, oh-so relevant today.

Enjoy!
