L.A. on L.A.

Currently representing fine artist Claire Oswalt, costume designer Nancy Steiner, graphic designer Kate Banazi, homeware brand Slowdown Studio and ceramicist Bari Ziperstein, Los Angeles-based PR brilliance Linlee Allen continues to build and beautifully support a thriving artistic community.

Since relocating from Paris where she handled international PR for colette for four years, Linlee has also been responsible for launching brands such as Karen Walker Eyewear and Vanessa Bruno in the U.S., and has orchestrated fashion collabs between Welcome Companions x Miranda July. This month, her expertise is extended to handling the upcoming Miami opening of one of our favourite retail boutiques, TEN OVER SIX.

As a devoted lover to the city of angels, Linlee walks us through her top L.A. spots…

1. Mameg

I call this place my retail danger zone. Its where I swoon over Jacquemus, Berhard Willhelm, Charles Anastase, Bless and Veronique Branquinho, and if that fails for some ungodly reason I head next door to Margiela where champagne flutes provide the perfect balancing act for accessories.

2. Lily Lodge

A veritable one-stop shop when in need of a special gift for a special friend. Its like a Parisian flea market where floral arrangements set the scene presented amid a treasure trove of vintage ceramics that herald from remote regions of Czechoslovakia, Scandinavia and beyond.

3. Nicky Kehoe

It could be the vintage assortment of artworks or the mind-blowing Astier de Villatte ceramics that take my breath away but I’ve always headed to this homeware haven for the expertly curated rare books that are put together by one of my favorite talents in Los Angeles, Jennifer Brandt Taylor. Her libraries are truly the stuff that magic is made of. Follow her on Instagram, here.

4. Obsolete

If Salvador Dali were alive you’d definitely find him here shooting the breeze with a bunch of hunky staff members. Not just an industrialist ode to art and furniture design, Obsolete is a bona fide refuge where the creme de la creme of L.A mingle. Don’t miss the outdoor Bonsai Garden, a pristine sanctuary where +100-year old trees sit pretty alongside animal sculptures and terra-cotta busts.

5. LFrank

Because every woman needs to up their style quota from time to time and designer Liseanne Frankfurt is the epitome of SoCal chic. For an elegant array of exquisitely designed jewels (you won’t believe what she can craft from a tourmaline or two), head here for the jewelry and leave with some gems, a namesake candle (or three) and an ultra-chic kimono robe in Liberty print from the lingerie collection.

6. Franklin Canyon

Situated a stone’s throw from Beverly Hills, this is one of those rare locations that seemingly exist in the middle of the hustle and bustle and yet remain one of the cities most well-kept secrets. Its the polar opposite of Runyon Canyon (under the radar celebs only around here and no cell phone reception = no selfies), plus the breathtaking views from the canyons guarantee a natural high.
