Industrial and product designer Alejandro Tapias journeys through his native Colombia exploring craft techniques and processes honed by indigenous communities, to collaborate on home decor items infused with his contemporary eye, under the umbrella of Alta Estudio.
The Botanica collection was shot in Torres del Parque, at the heart of the La Macarena neighbourhood in Bogotá, Colombia. Meeting over coffee in founder Alejandro’s’ house-workshop, photographer Andrés Altamirano knew this had to be the place, ‘A seminal architectural jewel by architect Rogelio Salmona, we chose the building for the circular details and the curved design, creating a symbiotic effect with Alta Estudio’s pieces,’ he explains.
