Redemption by Sara Orme and Courtney Sanders at The Keep
Last week saw the launch of a beautiful photographic exhibition, Redemption, at The Keep store on K.Rd in Auckland. In Redemption, Sara Orme and Courtney Sanders explore the relationship between emotional states, states of undress and environment. Creative duo Sara Orme and Courtney Sanders have been exploring themes of intellect and emotion in a fashion context for some time now, highlighted by 2011’s ‘Freedom’ project, based on the Jonathan Franzen novel of the same name. To accompany the still there was also a moving image shown which was created by Megan Christiansen.
Sara Orme is a photographer, passionate about her art and always thinking about the next visual idea. She likes that she can bring all sorts of her own life experience into her visual imagery. Her vision as a photographer allows her to focus on the human condition, where her work goes beyond taking just another fashion image.
Courtney Sanders is a writer and stylist who splits her time between alwayssometimesanytime.com and undertheradar.co.nz and occasionally moonlights as a freelance stylist, alternative music promoter and radio DJ. The flux of contemporary Western society is an ongoing concern of Courtneys, and she explores this in her visual and written work.
The Keep is a beautifully transient space, allowing artists working in all different mediums to come through the space and occupy it for a few moments, allowing the store/space to flourish and build alongside its fellow creatives. The next event to be held at The Keep is that of a design team working in 3D printing. We like. x
