Tonight we went to the Acne store in Soho as they were holding the launch for newly pressed book named ‘Ripped, T-Shirts From The Underground’ edited by Cesar Padilla. On show was a personal selection of vintage tees from Padilla, who has been collecting them since he was a kid growing up in California, idolising the New York cultures and movements within the music and fashion industries. Inside the book, each page holds a special story or memory that is shared by some of the leaders and key movers of these scenes including punk poet Lydia Lunch, fashion designer Betsey Johnson and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, some of which are very funny! Some of the t-shirts were just too cool, so were kept only on display, but there were a few one off scores for sale.

I took some pictures for you guys to show you as much of the book as I could and the tees that were not yet sold!!

Beer can coolers and holders, cute.

Apparently the most drinkable beer in NYC…
