Taste of Thursday with Petite Kitchen, Honey Butter Candy.

This buttery, hard candy only contains four simple ingredients. Honey, butter, dried fruit and seeds. It can be made in a matter of minutes and is bound to satisfy any sweet tooth. The perfect home made treat that you can devour without feeling guilty.

1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of honey
1 cup of mixed dried fruit and seeds (any nuts work well here also)

Line a baking tray with baking paper, then grease lightly (or else the baking paper sticks to the candy)

In a small saucepan on medium heat, heat the butter and honey until ‘hard crack’ stage on a candy thermometer (150°C). It is important that you use a thermometer as the candy needs to be heated to the perfect temperature to set.

Add the fruit and seeds, then stir over heat for 1 minute. Pour the mixture on to the baking tray then refrigerate until completely cooled. Using your hands, break the candy in to pieces.

Best stored in the fridge, can go a little soft at room temperature.

Makes around 20 pieces depending on size.
